Woolworths is Evil
Recently a friend of mine was betrayed by Woolworth and made us loose all faith in them. It's too hard to explain so read our conversation instead.
Friend: Was very proud of this rare species until I watered it and the white pebbles turned orange because... the red is paint!!! Well done Woolworths, well done.
Me: That's false advertising. You should sue!
Friend: When the power goes out... when the water in our tabs dry up... I always held fast to woolies as the last vestige of civilization... absolutely devastated.
Me: They helped me through my paternity leave. If it wasn't for them I would have starved!
Friend: Heck yes.
Me: And they delivered. If I were you I would write them a strongly worded letter about how spray painting plants is inhumane and how it destroys marriages.
Friend: Absolutely and how I expect woolies vouchers to make up for my pain and suffering.
Me: AND an apology to all horticulturists. Because they are the real victims here.
Friend: True. I now expect all plants to come in exotic CGI quality colors.
Me: That is how they ruin lives. They have an evil agenda and creating unhealthy expectations. I always thought their sugar gauntlet was a way they encourages diabetes for pharmaceutical companies to make a greater profit. I have not yet been proven wrong.
Friend: They are probably owned by the Illuminati too...
Me: ...who hates parents who they force to navigate the sugar gauntlet with greater trepidation especially when you have a sugar craving toddler with you. We should protest and have your plant as our mascot. Think we should call her Jezebel.
Friend: Don't get me started... those bags of "big spender chocolate coins" - the worst.. this is what I found on our carpet.
Me: That's how they taunt us. Even their chocolates are full of lies and deception!
Friend: And apparently these chocolates make kids lose their minds. Found our two year old dancing naked on these empty wrappers. We are yet to locate her pants!
Me: Bastards! Are we going to spray paint ourselves, in solidarity with Jezebel, stage a violent protest so that the riot police have to hose us down with their water cannons so that we can all be like "see, this is what you did with Jezebel, you assholes!!!"
Friend: Yes, let's take a leaf out of the student protester's book and burn something!
Me: We should burn their newspapers. Also, their newspapers makes one depressed just as you enter the sugar gauntlet and that's how they make us fat - they force us to eat our emotions. First they make us depressed and then they offer us chocolates for comfort. Jesus they are evil! We should totally protest for all the fat people too!
Friend: Count me in!
Me: I will start a Facebook events and call it "Justice for Jezebel".
Friend's husband: And here I was thinking you're a cat person? Get the Claws out.
Me: Don't involve Killer Pussy in this. She has access to nuclear weapons. We don't want to start a war with the Jews!
Friend's husband: I was actually talking to painted cactus's owner... get the claws out and tare open some woolies bags in their entrance.
Me: You are a very supportive husband encouraging your wife to be violent. Once you've open that pandora's box there is no closing it. Just saying. Also, Killer Pussy would be proud.
Friend: Was considering asking for Killer Pussy's help but then North Korea will want to get into the action too...
Friend's husband: I thought the pandora's box was already opened when the pebbles turned orange by the bad paint job from woolies... I am very supportive... I will drive my wife there and sell tickets at the door for the claw bag fight.
Friend: Heathen!
Me: Was just informed that woolies sells Fancy Feast and Killer Pussy wants nothing to do with this. Also she is half Russian and half Jew.
Friend: Deadly combination!
Me: They suffered under the Nazi's and it's a very sensitive topic in our house.
Friend: I will be sure to bring it up then when I see Killer Pussy.
(We never did protest woolies because we are lazy like that. Also, Jezebel died and it was very sad and she would not want to be remembered as the cause of a riot).

International Holocaust Remembrance Day
The Pink Triangle Victims.
Never Forget.
In total, during the Nazi's time in power, they arrested 100 000 people for homosexuality, imprisoned half of them including up to 15 000 in concentration camps. Many of those imprisoned died, some of sickening experiments by scientists trying to find a "cure" for homosexuality.
Unfortunately, after the allied liberated the concentration camps, many of the gay people who were imprisoned were not set free. Instead they were transferred to prisons, then under the control of allied forces. Their crime, homosexuality, something outlawed before the Nazi's took power, and it remained on the statute book until 1968 in East Germany and 1969 in West Germany.
Unlike other victims of the Nazi persecution, homosexuals were not offered reparations and it took until 2002 for the German government to officially apologise for the Nazi's crimes against homosexuals.

How not to react when your child tells you he is gay
I watched (or rather listened) to this video earlier today and was horrified! If you love your child how the fuck can you react this way? Being a parent now I have come to learn that your love for your child should be unconditional. It is incomprehensible that parents can act like this. They disgust me!

Uganda: Who are really responsible for the imminent gay genocide.
The world is up and arms about Uganda signing their new Anti-Gay Bill into law. A bill that now makes it illegal to be homosexual in Uganda and makes it illegal not to report homosexuals. A bill that makes provision for homosexuals to be handed sentences of life imprisonment. A bill that has now already caused two confirmed deaths in Uganda as a direct result. But have you ever stopped and wondered who are the actual people responsible for this flair up of radical homophobia in Africa? Have you ever wondered who are the people who now have blood on their hands in the name of Jesus? If you did, then watch this video and find out who are spreading homophobia in Africa and Uganda in the name of Christianity.

Good news for a change.
So after my rant on Monday I have
some good news to share with you. I
managed to rescue the bunny on Monday afternoon and brought him home. And no!
I did not kidnap
him. It was done all legitimate and
shit. He was severely malnourished and
practically just skin and bone. Someone
tried to shave him and did an atrocious job of it. When he got home he looked and smelled like a
bum and that is when the work began.
When he got home I immediately
noticed that he wasn’t eating. At first
I attributed this to stress. But as he
became more relaxed I knew there was a bigger problem at play. On Wednesday I took him to the vet for a full
checkup and to be neutered. That’s when
we discovered that the reason he wasn’t eating was because he couldn’t. It was too painful. You see due to having been given the wrong
food and, from what it looked like, no hay he had developed spurs on his
teeth. It’s rather nasty and looks like
little needles that make eating painful:
As a bunny try to eat these needles stick into his gums and as you can
imagine it is very unpleasant. So the
vet filed off the spurs and he was good to go.
The first obstacle we faced with
this new addition to our family was his name.
I wanted to name him Kazimer which means “The Great Destroyer” in Russian.
Hubby refused that we name him that and as he, in a very annoyed Tim
Gunn voice, told me “I don’t want
anything in our house that is known as The Great Destroyer. This is why we can’t have nice things!” So we decided to name him Dimitri which means
“Lover of Earth” in Russian. Hubby made our bun less of a worrier and more
of a hippie because he is kind that way.
A bigger problem though was socializing Dimitri with our other bunnies.
As you may recall we have two
other bunnies and they are both neutered boys.
They have bonded and love each other very much. Apparently it is very strange to have two
male bunnies bonded in this way but I guess it is true that the gay do rub off
and is indeed contagious. But before you
call Nigerians to stone me – I am being facetious. Knowing that socializing a new bunny with a
bonded pair is notoriously difficult I thought “How bad can it really be?”
Well the answer is really bad.
With the first introduction there
was a big ass fight between our youngest and smallest bun and Dimitri. Fur flew, water bowels where thrown and there
were tantrums and lots of screaming. Ok,
so the screaming was done by me but you get the idea. Consequently to the first introduction and
fight there was three more introductions all of which saw me have mini nervous breakdowns and took a couple of years off my life. I have also, in the mean time, employed
several other sneaky tricks to ease them into accepting one another and the
experts tell me that socializing them to the point where there are no longer fights could take anything from three weeks to eight months.
Dimitri is a gentle soul and has
a very easy going personality. He is
very similar to our only male cat and I foresee that the two of them will
become great friends down the line. It
took me two days to potty train Dimitri which also shows that he is super
intelligent. His favorite thing to do in
the evenings is to chill with us on the couch and he loves cuddles. This is a far cry from what he was use
to. He was kept in a chicken wire cage
at an Angora breeder in which he could barely turn around. He was only taken out of that cage to breed
and to be shaved. When he stopped eating
the breeder was too stingy to take him to a vet and dumped him at a pet shop where,
according to the vet, he would have died in three weeks from starvation if he
wasn’t rescued.
It breaks my heart to know that
there are people out there who doesn’t give a shit about animals; people who treat animals so badly that death
would be preferable. It makes my blood
boil. What I find appalling is the fact
that bunnies are becoming more popular as pets.
People buy these cute little fur balls from a pet shop without knowing
anything about them. The have no clue
about their diets, their health, emotional needs and what it takes to raise a
happy, healthy and well rounded bunny.
Then at the first sight of problems they dump them. My plea is that before anyone adopts or buys
a pet first do your research. Find out
as much as you can about that animal and then decide if that pet will fit your
lifestyle and if you will be capable and willing to care for that animal for
the rest of that animal’s life.
Till next time.

Things that get my tits in a twist
I know... I know…
You are going to say please just not another blog post about some kind of rant. But I am sorry; I am going to rant because I am fucking
piss off! As most of you know I am an
avid animal lover to which my ever expanding menagerie is a testament. I love all animals. Ok, that’s not entirely true. I hate spiders, snakes and all worms with fur
on them. Well, technically they are
insects and reptiles but apart from them I am like Noah but without a message
from God or an ark. I must also admit
that I sometimes like animals more than I do people as animals have no malice,
don’t start wars or are not responsible for gross violations of human
rights. This is why when animals are
being abused, mistreated or neglected I lose my shit and this is exactly what
happened this weekend.
You see this weekend hubby and I went to our local nursery
to have a look at some plants. In
December last year hubby took out all the invader plants in our backyard and it
now looks like a drag queen’s face who have been out in the rain smoking
crack. We decided to take out all the
invader plants not because we had some kind of xenophobic plant attack but
because the invader plants were taking over our back garden and killing all our
other indigenous plants. Invader plants
are assholes like that and you should never ever trust a sword fern. They are evil and very hard get rid off and difficult to kill! So with our back garden looking
sad and barren we decided that this weekend we will get some indigenous plants
and start with our backyard’s rejuvenation.
Also, the plants that we need to buy must not look scrumptious to our
bunnies and also not be poisonous to them either. Quite a tall order I know.
When we arrived at our local nursery it was right in the
middle of the heat of the day and they were busy watering their plants with
their sprinkler system. Good for the
plants. Not so good for us. It is really difficult to do plant shopping
when you are constantly being sprayed with water.
I was also wearing flip flops (don’t judge me) and I was busy getting
grossed out by all the water puddles that were forming. So I eventually told hubby that we should
call it a day but first I wanted to have a look around the pet shop they have
at the nursery. This is where the
problem started.
While walking around I noticed that the pet shop had their
normal range of small rabbits. All
bundled into different cages separated by breed. It wasn’t long before I spotted a bunny that
looked really despondent and was kept separately in his own cage. He was an adult French Angora rabbit and
rather huge one at that. He was sitting
in his small cage with his back towards the outside; his cage littered with the
feces of other animals that were there before him. He had no hay (which is an essential part of
a rabbit's diet and especially that of Angoras), no rabbit pellets but only what
looked like dog food and water. He
looked depressed and when I acknowledge that I had seen him he turned to me and
I could see he was also starved for interaction of any kind. Rabbits are social animals after all.
Later that afternoon when we got home I told my husband that
I cannot stop thinking about that rabbit. Hubby also said that it upset him to see the
rabbit being held in those conditions.
We then mutually decided that the next day we would rescue him. Of course my husband’s conditions were that
the rabbit had to be neutered and thoroughly get checked out by our vet to
which I agreed. On Sunday morning we
returned to the pet shop. Hubby warned
me to not cause a scene or to go all PETA on their asses and that I had to be diplomatic which is sometimes hard
for me as I suffer from foot-in-mouth disease.
After questioning the shop assistant about the rabbit’s history I learned
that he was one year old and had belonged to a breeder who wanted to get rid of
him because he was fighting with the other rabbits. So it seems that if you are a rabbit at a
breeder and if you do not behave or have served your purpose you are either killed
or thrown away. Great way to treat
animals, ain’t it?
The sad part is that adult rabbits rarely get bought at pet
shops or get adopted. The general public
always seems to go for the cute baby rabbits and the older ones are over
looked. The distressing reality is that
when people buy bunnies as pets they know very little about them. They don’t know what their nutritional and emotional requirements are or the fact that rabbits are high
maintenance pets and are expensive to keep.
They are not suitable pets for children under the age of 8 and if you do
want to keep them inside the house you need to bunny proof or else the
bunny will destroy things. When these
people then wakeup to the reality that rabbits are more labor intensive than
cats and dogs and more expensive to maintain they tend to want to get rid of them. Some “set
them free” and think that the rabbit will be fine. What people don’t realize is that
domesticated rabbits cannot survive in the wild and they will die.
After speaking the shop assistant and checking out the
French Angora up close we were told that we would have to speak to the owner
before “buying” him. We ran into a snag and to make a long story
short, if all goes well, we will be able to fetch him on Wednesday. Only then will we be able to access his
health and determine what effect having been kept by an unscrupulous breeder
has had on his physical and emotional health and determine what kind of
rehabilitation he may require. Luckily
our cats and bunnies are all very chilled and I am sure they will help him
become the happy bunny he is destined to be, instead of an animal whose sole
purpose is to breed.
I sometimes wish that all people who consider themselves to
be “animal breeders” would be
required to obtain a license from the SPCA to do so. Also, I wish that the SPCA could inspect
all the animal breeders to make sure that the animals are taken care of properly
and that their living conditions are acceptable. There are so much animal abuse and neglect going
on in the world and I don’t understand how people keep animals if they cannot
care for them.
Lastly, I also wish that
people who adopt rabbits would educate themselves about these highly intelligent
animals before they get them. Animals are
not your property that you own. They are
not things. They are living creatures which
you cannot just throw away when you are tired of them or when they
misbehave. When you buy or an adopt an
animal that animal is your
responsibility and the way you take care of and treat that animal says a lot
about who you are as a human being and the respect you have for life around
you.
Till next time.

Should I quit while I’m ahead?
In January 2014 my blog will turn five years old. In blogging years that is like fifteen human
years. When I started blogging there
were many blogs that I read and enjoyed, but as the years gone by many of them
simply ceased to exist. From the pool of
blogs that I enjoyed reading only a handful are still active. Many bloggers simply grew bored with their
blogs or moved on to newer better things or died. But I am still here. Why? Well,
I am not sure. Blogging is a lot of work
and updating my blog’s social media presence is a seven day a week job. It’s not like you get days off and, even
worse, it’s not like you get paid to do it either (or at least I don’t). So I am left wondering, why do I do it and
should I not just quit while I am ahead?
Many people think that blogging is easy. I mean, you just scribble a few thoughts
down, try not to murder the English language with shitty grammar et voila – you have a blog post! Well it’s not. Many weeks I would message my friend and
fellow blogger GeeGee with the words “What
the fuck must I blog about this week?”
She will attest to this. Yet,
every week I manage cough up 900 to 1200 words, even though it’s seldom very
cerebral and most certainly won’t cause you to have an epiphany about your own life. But people seem to enjoy it. I am not really sure how I do it, it just
happens albeit sometimes forcibly and accompanied by an army of four letter
words that I always have to edit out.
You know, because you can’t curse like a sailor if you are about to
become a dad.
Through the last few years I also made some “enemies” and I have received my fair
share of hate mail. Luckily I’ve not
receive any dead animal parts via FedEx or any credible death threats. Yet. Even
though I am sure in some people’s minds they have thought about ways they’d
like to permanently remove me from society.
Fortunately for me I have grown use to hate mail and it doesn’t really affect
me anymore. You can only be told that
you are going to hell so many times before it completely loses its impact. I have also found that even within the LGBT
community there are many folks who dislike me personally and my blog. Perhaps it’s because they envy what I have; a
stable marriage of fifteen years, a career, a mildly successful blog and the
fact that my husband and I are about to adopt a child. Who knows and who cares. We are all bitches sometimes.
Initially when I started my blog I wasn’t quite sure what it
should be and I must admit that in the beginning I really sucked at it. But, as I continued I found my voice and my
blog started to evolve into what it is today.
Every time I hear or read about the plight of my LGBT brothers and
sisters, how they are being oppressed and discriminated against, both locally
and abroad, a little part of me dies. It
saddens me and I have found that the only way to make it better is to write
about it here on my blog. I am under no
illusion that there are better forms of activism and of having your voice heard,
but this is what I am most comfortable with. It is what it is and I won’t apologize for it. Being somewhat of a misguided optimist I also
don’t like dwelling on negativity and firmly believe to look at the brighter
side of life - hence my sometimes warped sense humor.
I firmly believe that if you cannot laugh at yourself you
have not had enough therapy. Life can
suck sometimes and the only way I get through those days that are just determined
to be filled with assholes is by laughing.
You’d be surprised how a sense of humor can get you through the toughest
times. Well, humor and medication that
is. They make a fabulous
combination. Even at times when I am
depressed and wallowing in self-pity I manage to find something to giggle
about. And if I can’t then there are
antidepressants. Coincidentally, the antidepressant
I am on now is making me fat and it puts me in an impossible position: Do I stop taking them and have a Sylvia Plath
moment or do I remain on them and become chubby(er)? I mean even my cat is making fun of my weight
on her fan page because she to can be an asshole! And she is way more famous than I am on Facebook. But I digress...
You guys I have been blogging for a fucking long time and
many weeks I thought about quitting my blog.
I have even spoken to friends about it and their opinions have been
varied. Some say yes quit and others say
don’t. But in the end the final decision
lies with me. So why do I still
continue? Well the answer is simple –
because you are still reading it. Some
of you have been here since my blog was started, some of you left and came back
and some of you are new. As long as
there still is an audience for my blog I will continue write. I can’t promise that I won’t use shitty
grammar, the odd F-word and I can’t promise that each week you will get Pulitzer
Prize worthy mind meanderings to consume.
But what I can promise you is this - each week when you return I will
still be here. And to all my haters I have
only one thing to say to you – suck it bitches!
Till
next time.

Beware the Sodomites want to recruit you!
Once again my jaw dropped in disbelieve when a friend forwarded me a link to the ranting of a radical Church. The ranting is by Steven Anderson from the Faithful Word Baptist Church. He is convinced that the sodomites (homosexuals) are taking over the world, spreading our disease of sin and want to recruit you. The only way to stop us, he says, is to kill us. This led me to wonder, is this true? Are we really taking over the world? Are we really hell bent on recruiting as many as we can to join our revolution of depravity?
Steven raises an interesting point by saying that we are multiplying. “There’s more than there were last year and the year before, and the year before that”. This is absolutely true as I can’t dispute this. He also raised the point of us reproducing and entertained with a brief biology lesson. Yes, two men and two women can’t reproduce through gay sex (and believe me we try) but can you say “Artificial Insemination”? Unfortunately, for us radical sodomites having a baby doesn’t guarantee us producing another sodomite. Statistically speaking chances are better that we would produce a straight (non-sodomite) child – oh the repulsion of even entertaining such a thought!
So how are we multiplying? The answer is simple according to Steven - we recruit! Sodomites are diligent “recruiters and not reproducers”. We are preying on your children, unsuspecting and unescorted teenagers and defenceless adults. Yes, we seek out the weak and then swoop on them with our Rainbow Flags, KY, Dildos and other queer paraphernalia then “rape, molest and violate” them until they join our squadron. There even is a Gay Manual printed at Sodomite Head Quarters in Amsterdam with detailed instructions, however the illustrated version is only distributed from Sydney and costs a tad more. The process is quite straightforward and relatively painless for those who are not into sadomasochism. All sodomites know that if you need a refresher course, because you have not been meeting your recruitment quota for the month, you will have the manual couriered to you within 24 hours anywhere in the world accompanied with a tongue lashing, head bobbing, finger waving and a hefty fine from the International Institution of Sodomites.
We sodomites are also an ambitious bunch, recruiting is not enough for us because we don’t want to just spread our “disease of sin” we want to dominate and take over the world! We are constantly searching for positions of power especially in the governments of world. Having already infiltrated the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Italy and many more we are at the verge of a full-on hostile coup d'état. We even have undercover sodomites in the Vatican! We are also branching out with our latest Infidel Office that opened up in Iraq just this past week and more to come.We already control large portions of the world’s economy such as the Fashion Industry and are covertly taking control of other industries as well. Soon not a single non-sodomite will be safe! Just think about what we have achieved already. We are already in your homes (we decorated it, designed the clothes that you wear, your furniture, write the scripts of the shows you watch and even tell you how to prepare your food and do your hair). Our devious plan is well on its way and you are slowly being conditioned for that day the faggots, queers, trannies and dykes will be coming for you!
So how are us sodomites able to do this? Better yet, why are we getting away with it? Again Steven hits the nail on its head with the correct answer – “Queers have no natural predators!” Like the lions in the wild we have very few competitors to fear as we are at the top of the proverbial food/sex chain. We have a superior brain, are more evolved, impeccable fashion sense and generally have a greater disposable income enabling us to fund our global operations to dominate the world. Our creativity and flamboyance combined with our sensitive nature also is another key element as this is how we lure away your women and transform them into our slaves (fag hags). Whatever your wife or girlfriend can’t discuss with you (like your erectile dysfunction) she is happy to share with us. We are the ones that introduced them to vibrators and the phrase “honey not tonight I have a headache” – all of this to curb your reproduction rate. We are such geniuses we have even destroyed the sanctity of marriage as we too can now get married in several countries. First we took over the wedding industry with our wedding planners, caterers, fashion designers and decorators and now we have taken ownership of marriage away from you as well. You know gay adoption is also on the rise so gay married couples are now also taking your children too.
Lastly, you may argue that we need non-sodomites as the stereotypical sodomite is quite timid and lack brute strength because with a superior brain muscle power has become absolute. The truth is we really don’t need non-sodomites, this is why we have the stereotypical dykes: They can build things, win bar fights are good with knifes, beer bottles and fixing things like cars or leaking pipes. We also don’t need non-sodomites because we can procreate with the help of technology. Steven, I think, realized how redundant non-sodomites have become in society and is becoming terrified. If you listen to how hysterical he becomes during the last portion of his sermon one would think a sodomite has already baptised him up the ass. Steven is correct to be petrified because we are doing all these things - we are multiplying, recruiting and taking over the world! Soon all non-sodomites will be replaced with the superior human race that is the Sodomites!!!
Whoever is crazy enough to believe all of this really should look up Steven Anderson and give him a copy of this article, I am sure this would feed his festering hatred for homosexuals. Steven lives in a fantasy world where fairies have become demons and the leader in the battle between “Good” and “Evil” is led by a blind man who can’t distinguish between the two. I guess the world needs this type of insanity to balance out the bigger scheme of things, I just hope I never cross his path as I have quite a bit I’d like to say and do to crazy Anderson.

STOP THE UGANDAN GENOCIDE!
Genocide is still occurring in the world, and another one is pending! On October 14, 2009, a so-called "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" was introduced in Uganda's parliament.
This bill would:
- Imprison for life anyone convicted of "the offense of homosexuality";
- Punish "aggravated homosexuality" – including repeat offenders, or anyone who is HIV positive and has gay sex – with the Death Penalty;
- Forbid the "promotion of homosexuality," and jail rights defenders who work on LGBT rights;
- Imprison anyone for up to three years if they fail to report within 24 hours anyone they know who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, or who supports their human rights.
This Bill is nothing but a vehicle that will be used to legalize targeted killings.
Please STOP this pending Genocide and get involved. Contact representatives of your government and demand action are taken to prevent this potential tragedy!

Mandela Day
Nelson Mandela is without a doubt the face and soul of South Africa. This great icon of peace and liberation will be celebrating his birthday on 18 July and he will be turning 94. Therefore, a great tribute to this legend of Africa is the annual celebration of Mandela Day (make an imprint a 46664 celebration) which was established in June of 2008. Mandela Day is an annual celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life and a global call to action for people to recognize their individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them; individuals are required to spend 67 minutes on this day devoted to the charity of their choice in celebration of Mandela’s 67 years of making a difference.
I am one of the lucky South Africans that had the honour of meeting this legend a couple of years ago. Madiba made a visit to the university I was attending. When he entered the room I could feel I was in the presence of greatness. I was overwhelmed by his energy and enigmatic poise. Shaking the hand of this unassuming and soft spoken man I looked into his eyes and could not help but wonder how this person that spend 27 years in prison could emerge without any bitterness or hatred. On 11 February 1990 his freedom was secured and his dynamic purpose and instrumental role in forever changing a country, I suppose, provided him with a higher objective that could not afford him the luxury of ill feelings of the past but instead focused him on his destiny. After changing a nation and an exemplary life Madiba stood in front me and I realized I was touching a legend and a part of living history. The few minutes of interaction I had with him will remain vivid in my memory and his genuine interest and ability to make each person he relates with feel important and respected will remain an example to me of how human beings should treat each other.
Being too young to actually remember Apartheid and the evils it perpetrated I recently visited the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg. Our sordid history is on display in this multi-million establishment that serves as a reminder for us not to repeat the past. Atrocities committed on both sides of the battle are on display in this museum. After drinking up all this history I left the museum feeling perturbed at how a society could be mislead to believe that discrimination and hate could serve any higher purpose. I also left with a sense of hope as we as a nation were victorious in this struggle and are well on our way to navigate successfully an enlightened future. The story of Apartheid is a painful one for many people – black and white alike! Many innocent people suffered, died and many lives were forever changed with both physical and emotional scars that individuals will take with them to their final resting place. All this sacrifice so that we (the next generation) will have freedom and a better future, a sacrifice I believe not many South African’s fully appreciate.
Having been to Robin Island on a few occasions it’s hard to believe that Nelson Mandela spend the better part of his live there. Having been inside his prison cell I came to realize how resilient a person’s mind must be to stay strong, focused and optimistic as the claustrophobia could easily persuade your soul to lose hope and your mind to forfeit progress. While on the island I also had the opportunity to see the man made cave that the political prisoners dug; the cave that is fondly referred to as our first democratic parliament and many of our current political leaders received their political education there. If anything the visionaries of that era were creative, innovative and motivated – qualities we hope they will soon reintroduce into our current political landscape.Nelson Mandela truly is an extraordinary human being and will be celebrated across the world on the 18th of July for many years to come. His life is an example of sacrifice, hope, change, resilience and peace. It’s my wish that with Mandela Day people from across the globe will engage in the values of compassion, respect, charity, peace, forgiveness and goodwill and make a positive imprint on their community propagating the legacy of Madiba and embracing Madiba Magic in their lives and generously share it with others.

Russia: Don’t Go There.
Lawmakers in Russia just passed a draconian censorship law that would
impose stiff fines for anything construed as "the promotion of
homosexuality" in Saint Petersburg, Russia's second largest city. Reading,
writing, speaking or reporting on anything related to gay, lesbian bi or trans
(LGBT) people would become a criminal act. This ban on "promotion"
would also target Pride parades, literature, theater, or NGOs that openly serve
LGBT people. All Out, a community of
almost a million people around the world fighting for full equality, made a
little video to send the Governor a message. Pass this law - We
Won't Go There.

Censorship isn't Freedom: Stop SOPA!
There is a
big hype on the internet about the US government trying to censor, or even shut
down sites with user generated content. Eg, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and
Gadgetzz and even Blogs would have to turn commenting off. Risk of Jail
for Ordinary Users. It becomes a felony
with a potential 5 year sentence to stream a copyrighted work that would cost
more than $2,500 to license, even if you are a totally noncommercial user.
The
Stop Online Piracy Act, commonly known as SOPA. Generally speaking,
this legislation is intended to help content creators like movie and music companies to combat the overseas Web sites that host illegal downloads. Sounds fairly harmless, right? Couple of
problems with that. First, it was
apparently written by people without a basic understanding of things like DNS
entries and IP addresses. Long story
short, it wouldn’t stop people from accessing the sites Congress (and big
media) want to block. For added fun, it
would give those big media companies – and just about everyone else – a whole
raft of legal tools allowing them to harass hosting companies, search engines,
social media sites and little old bloggers like you and me.
Censorship isn’t
freedom. SOPA needs to be stopped.

The Gay Plague
1981 saw the emergence of a disease that would change the gay community and later the world’s attitude towards our sexual behavior, lifestyle and prejudices. It was 1st described as the Gay Plague; a disease that only affected gay men and was 1st called GRID (Gay Related Immune Deficiency). During the 80’s the word GRID was replaced with AIDS and this filled people with a horrendous fear as images of dying emaciated gay men were plastered in the media.
During this time it was uncertain how the disease was transmitted and it was viewed as a death sentence and was highly stigmatized. Having the Gay Plague was shameful and society alienated those infected due to fear and ignorance. Now, 30 years later, I wonder how much have changed?
During this time it was uncertain how the disease was transmitted and it was viewed as a death sentence and was highly stigmatized. Having the Gay Plague was shameful and society alienated those infected due to fear and ignorance. Now, 30 years later, I wonder how much have changed?
My 1st encounter with HIV and AIDS was with a friend of mine in 1996. He was diagnosed with HIV 8 years prior and during the winter of 1996 he fell ill and died of AIDS related complications. All his friends knew of his HIV status that’s why we found it shocking that his family at his funeral told people he had died of Cancer. Even after his death his illness was denied. The shame of having a gay son was soon superseded by having a gay son with HIV that died of the disease. His family never approved of his lifestyle and had always blamed his homosexuality for his death when, as a matter of fact, he contracted the illness through a blood transfusion after a car accident. His family have still not forgiven the gay community for what we evidently had done to their son; his death instead of enlightening his family to the plight of people with HIV has made them homophobic and left them angry. Whether their prejudice and anger has dissipated since is uncertain.
One of my best friends of 12 years was diagnosed with HIV 8 years ago. I remember the day he told me. He had just learned of his diagnoses the week before and was still reeling from shock. I remember him finding it difficult to muster the courage to utter the words. In his eyes I could see his fear, sadness and helplessness as he faced an uncertain future. All he longed for from me was an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and someone to provide him with encouragement and support and not to be judgmental.Isn’t that what we all would want? He admitted that he contracted HIV due to having unprotected sex. I remember thinking to myself that he should have known better, and now due to one stupid incident he’s going to live with a sword hanging over his head for the rest of his life. Naturally, I kept my thoughts to myself; after all it happened and he’s HIV+ now and there is no use crying over spilled milk.
The 1st year following his diagnoses he found it incredibly difficult to accept. Due to denial and anger he spent the year engaging in self-destructive behavior – abusing alcohol and drugs. I recall having a conversation with him trying to convince him to get his life back on track but he refused as he was of the attitude that he’s going to die anyway so why prolong the process. He also mentioned that he intended to commit suicide once he got full blown AIDS as he wouldn’t want his friends and family to watch him suffer. He was not scared of dying but feared the process of dying! At the time his threat of suicide was no idle one.His family did not make things easier. In fact, due to ignorance, they made things worse. They would have separate cutlery for him in the house and his laundry was kept separate from theirs - he was truly being treated like he had the plague. I am sure his family didn’t do this because they didn’t love him; they were scared as they didn’t quite know how to deal with and support their child and brother with HIV.
Gradually, as time passed, his family became more educated and their attitude and ignorant behavior changed. Family life almost returned to normal: 2 years after being diagnosed he was still alive and no family member got infected by sharing a glass with him or having their laundry done with his. However, his self-destructive behavior continued until he fell seriously ill.
For the 1st time he faced the real possibility of death. The experience changed him and the realization came that if he does not accept and deal with the fact that he’s HIV+ and take responsibility for his own live and health he would not live past the age of 30. He had a fundamental paradigm shift as only a near death encounter can achieve.
For the last 5 years he has lived a normal, healthy and productive life. He has even had a couple of relationships, which is notoriously difficult as very few healthy gay men would be willing to date someone with HIV. However, he did find someone and they were together for almost 2 years. Like most things in life it has not been smooth sailing and a few health scares has rocked the boat. What I have learned from him is that your attitude, shear will and optimism plays an important part of living with HIV – it’s no longer is a death sentence as was first thought 30 years ago.Being only 4 years old when the Gay Plague surfaced I literally grew up with it. Now, 34 I have seen how society and their attitudes have changed. HIV is no longer an exclusively gay disease and all spheres of society from all corners of the world are affected. There are very few people whose lives have not been touched by the disease as most of us know someone or know off someone who has HIV.
As we have learned more about the disease, how it’s transmitted and newer and more effective treatments are developed HIV+ people are living longer and their quality of life have also improved. However, in many communities HIV is still stigmatized and ignorance about the disease is still rampant. With all we know and have learned about HIV there are still people that engage in unprotected sex and people who refuse to get tested out of fear. After 30 years much have improved but many problems still remain that only our generation can change if we want to leave the world better place for the next generation.
One way to support this cause is to get involved. I recently discovered a very inspiring website called Positive Heroes . There are similar groups and websites across the globe; they say it only take one person to make a difference – let that 1 person be you! Know your status and get tested today.
Till next time.

The Abomination of Humanity
Since I started this blog I have addressed some contentious issues. Some topics caused quite a stir especially amongst a few fanatical Christians. Dealing with Homophobia, Discrimination, AIDS, Racism and even how we as a gay community discriminate amongst ourselves, the backlash was expected but the resulting hate mails ,at first, caught me off guard.
Later, as I wrote about topics that I knew could be controversial I anticipated receiving the nasty onslaught of hate in my inbox, and they never disappointed. But, it's not only the controversial themes that have sparked hate mail, some light-hearted articles surprisingly did too. Some of which left me utterly flabbergasted. Haters managed to take seemingly “innocent” articles and mutilate them with their narrow minded ignorance and turn them into something hateful and ugly? Leaving me to wonder, are there really people out there that can find hate in anything if they applied their twisted minds?
In the past three years since my blog’s conception I have posted numerous articles the majority of which, I must admit, have been humorous. Even when dealing with serious matters I attempted not to lose sight of the lighter side of life. However, some of these articles outraged a few people, outraged them so much that they decided to send me their thoughts in harshly worded e-mails. In total I have received well over 200 hate mails to date, 200 hate mails and counting...
In these hate mails I have been called everything from a Faggot, God Hating Queer, Turd Miner, Infidel, Satanist, Asshole, Mother Fucker, Vulgar Animal, Anti-Christ, and worse. They have also accused me of filling people’s minds with my filth, being a terrorist, spreading AIDS, trying to destroy religion, being a molester of bodies and minds and the best yet “The Abomination of Humanity” (note the use of the wording “THE Abomination” instead of “An Abomination”).So yes, I have received quite my fair share of hate mails and have been called my fair share of bad names. The common denominator amongst my hate mail is the fact that they mostly come from religious folks. This special category of hate mails are easily identifiable due to the quotations from the Bible, Koran, Torah and Tanakh; all quotations taken out of context to imply that I am going to hell and taking all my readers to hell with me. (So please take note my gentle readers pack light for the afterlife - it’s going to be warm!)
The hate mail I received after one particular article about Halloween (Horror, Weirdoes & Fagalicious Homos) “condemned me to hell”. I kid you not! The hate mail further accused me of promoting “hideous, dirty and vulgar sinful acts” but fail to name or list these acts so it was left to my very vivid imagination to do so myself.
In the same e-mail I was also singled out as The Abomination of Humanity. Well, to be honest over the last three years I have been condemned to hell by so many people, from so many religions, in so many hate mails that when I do get to Hell one day I am expecting one big mother fucking welcoming party. After all, according to my haters I have recruited most of its occupants and don't The Abomination of Humanity deserve an epic welcome? If not, don't I at the very least deserve some medal for all my evil achievements?
I still find it hard to believe that there are people in this world with such a narrow minded attitude to life that innocent articles can prompt such ferocious attacks. Having now become quite use to receiving hate mails, I read them with the same regard as I do flyers left on my car’s windscreen. It is just amazing how these individuals rather opt to send me personalized e-mails than posting their disgust on my blog’s wall.
One would think being so disgruntled, offended and taking such personal umbrage to what I write, they would want to share it with the world. After all my dear hate mail senders, do my readers not deserve to be informed that they are also condemned to the same fate as I, or be warned about how I am molesting their minds and corrupting their souls?
Over 200 hate mails and counting. No matter how perturbing they may be, a few hundred hate mails definitely will not stop this faggot from writing about any issue, event, holiday, topic, belief or highlighting the human rights abuses of the gay community whenever and wherever it occurs. A few hundred hate e-mails won’t shut this Queer up!As for my haters, one thing I have learned since starting my blog is that if people want to find hate, they never have to look very far as they can manipulate, twist and spin anything to suit their hate fueled agendas. Some even actively seek out hate, how else does one explain why my haters keep on returning to my blog? To all those hatemonger fanatics, I dare you to express your views openly and publicly. Come on now, if you are that upset and if it is that important to you, why be shy?
Till next time

Lube Up Homophobe We’re Cumming for You!
American Family Association big shot Bryan Fischer recently labelled gay people as Nazi’s on a radio program in the USA. During his two day rant he spewed his Christian based hate by insisting powerful gay people were out to silence anyone who disagreed with us. He compared our gay rights movement to Hitler’s Nazis and ironically the Roman Catholic Church’s Spanish Inquisition. Well, after seeing Bryan’s very heated tirade, I had a bit of a chuckle as nobody will take a crazy man seriously and surely nobody will believe him either (which is a good thing). After consulting with Queer Head Quarters, which coincidentally is based in Paris this year, it was agreed that I can clarify a few matters that were raised by Bryan Fischer. So here goes, the facts of the gay rights movement especially for you Bryan.
Bryan, you compared the homosexual agenda to Islam stating “there is no room for dissent, there is no room to leave, once you’re in, you can’t leave”. Well, this is 100% correct. We are born gay and once you have your qayness approved by Queer HQ, issued with your membership card, successfully completed the ritual coming out and have been bestowed your commemorative dildo there really is no going back. I don’t know exactly how our procedures compare with that of Islam, but I am sure ours are more colourful and far more delightful. There are a few homosexuals who have fallen victim to the “pray gay away” freaks, but that is usually easily rectifiable with something we call common sense and gay sex. And if all else fails we have also found that electroshock therapy works just as well especially when applied to testicles! Bryan you should really try either gay sex or electrifying your balls sometime, I promise you will enjoy it! We will even through in an honorary strap-on dildo for you (I am guessing you might be partial to a black one).
You also claimed that we are Nazi’s when it comes to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Well, this is quite a thorny issue for us. You see, we are all for freedom of speech. People can say anything they like about us as long as their facts are correct which we will dictate to them. Admittedly, we do frown upon being spoken off in a disparaged manner and we don’t like being criticized by idiotic religious freaks like yourself. And we will have a go at anyone who does. But we do it in a far more flamboyant manner and with taste and tact which is something you clearly lack. Contrary to what you believe Bryan, we don’t prescribe any religion. The only religion we actively advocate against is the Roman Catholic Church. We do this because we don’t like their outfits – they are dated, the hats are awful, and the Pope looks like a scary old man who could crab you in a darkroom and fist you while insisting you call him daddy. Thinking about it, you give off a similar vibe, should I call you Daddy too?
Bryan you speak of heresy as if that is a bad thing. We fags have been heretics for ages and we have become quite skilled at it. For goodness sake we even have parades celebrating it! So when you imply there is no room for heresy in the gay agenda I find it a tad misguided. So let me clarify it for you. I concede that we have a well engineered tolerance dogma that we insist the world follow, and that includes you too. We want gays in the military, in government and every other sector in society where we queer folk can have a measure of influence. We are, after all, hell bend on world domination! So when non-gay people go off script and stray from our well planned tolerance dogma it threatens our devious plans and those folk need to be dealt with. And that’s where our re-education camps come in.
The gay agenda will not tolerate intolerance! We deal with it decisively yet humanely. Seeing as it’s a criminal offence to exterminate homophobes and to do so in mass is considered a war crime (as we all learned from Hitler’s little blunder), we found a fabulous alternative. We have established secret re-education camps for people like you. These fantastic camps, which are immaculately decorated with gay paraphernalia I’ll have you know, take homophobes and make them more partial to our cause. Some call it brainwashing – we prefer to call it enlightenment. What makes these camps so genius and successful is the fact that they are in plain sight and many non-gay folk visit them regularly without even knowing it. They are at casinos, malls, your favourite family restaurants and some are even mobile and can be set up right in your living room. It is important for our agenda to be flexible yet durable, much like our highly valued power bottoms in our community, and as such our strategies need to be too.
If we can’t get to you at one of our re-education camps we do it on the one medium with the furthest reach – your television set. For years we have influenced and colluded with studio executives through their gay personnel assistants and whether you like it or not the queers are taking over daytime and prime-time television. Soon there will not be a show on television without a like able gay character. We tested the water with one of our most senior queer operatives and today she has one of the most successful talk shows in the world. We will enlighten you, your children and your grandchildren too into liking us and there is nothing you can do to stop it. So relax that rectum, grab that lube and whiff some poppers because we are cumming for you. But don’t fret too much, we don’t want to turn you gay, not permanently anyway – you are not that hot! We still need you for other things.
You see Bryan, non-gay folks have been doing such a stellar job at producing gay babies it would be a shame and counterproductive to stop it now. Sure we can now also procreate with the help of technology but fate is a bitch with a wicket sense of humour. As hard as gay parents try we just can’t seem to make our own children gay! Many gay parents have cried themselves to sleep at night after their kids came out to them as “a straight”. It’s not the lifestyle we want for them, it's not natural, but we accept them and love them regardless. In conclusion, Bryan on behalf of all queers I would like to thank you for putting another face on homophobia and reinforcing our diligence in furthering our gay agenda. We are looking forward to be up your rectum soon!
Till next time!
