Hate Mail

After my recent post "The Abomination of Humanity" that dealt with the hate mail I receive on a regular basis I decided to publish some of these mails on my blog. The normal "burn in hell" and "fuck you faggot" mails I decided to ignore, and rather only publish ones that have an inkling of intelligence. So here is one that was sent to me via Facebook:
Message 1:
"we hate you cos you are fucking poofs...."
Message 2:
"The thing you people seem unable to grasp is the fact that in basic biological instincts mean that any organism is hard wired to reproduce and further the existence of the species.
Any organism that did not wish to reproduce, a gay organism if you will, would not pass on its genes. Therefore it follows that put crudely, gay people have a genetic defect.

In a primitive life form, the gay gene would be gone after a few generations as it would not be passed on, and would only again occur in an organism due to a defect. Now of course we live in a politically correct world so defects are embraced in more developed nations.

You wouldn't kill a disabled child just because they were born with the disability, but that does not change the fact that there is a defect with that child. They are not normal in a genetic sense. As are gays. I do not mean to imply that gay people should be killed or anything, but it is a biological fact that they have a gene defect."

At least this person tried to provide some "scientific" rationalization for his homophobia. It's quite refreshing to receive a "hate mail" without some religious tone to it. According to this genius gay people are defective primitive organisms that will go extinct. And there I thought we were superior organisms, I guess it's back to the lab for a reanalysis.
Till next time.

i'm a new follower of your blog and i admire you so much! is it ok that this is the funniest thing i've read in some time?

Bitter Bitches said...

Thanks Angelina la dawn, of we loose our sense of humor life would be one boring & arduous experience! So if I can make you smile, laugh and maybe ponder on some of life's issue I am more than happy to oblige ;-)

So...we're defective? -blinks- Psh, we're a superior type of defective then. If you have to have a defect to make you wonderful, then the haters have the defect, not us.

Bitter Bitches said...

Shoska Kifda Kyren, we are FABULOUS just the way we are and don't let anyone or anything make you doubt it. People can discriminate against us, in some countries torture and kill us, but we are queer and we are here! We are NOT going away!

Add your own "science." Like this: in an age of serious overpopulation, gays and lesbians are at the leading evolutionary edge, ensuring the survival of the human race by slowing astounding planetary birthrates. ;)

Bitter Bitches said...

True ChrisJ, and don't forget that we are also adopting the children some of our heterosexual counterparts have (or at least the ones that decides not to abort their unwanted or unplanned pregnancies). I just had to throw that stone at the heterosexual glass house. I know my last statement is not quite fair but it is a reality!

Never stops to amaze me how people can have these views. Very sad. But we keep going!

Bitter Bitches said...

Michael Rivers, we have to keep going and fighting for our rights, because if we don't who will?

I'm truly sorry that you receive hate mail. People can be so cruel sometimes. As a christian I hold to the biblical point of view of homosexuality, but I also hold to the biblical point of view that we are all sinners and in need of a savior; and that we should reach out in love, not with unkindness.

Bitter Bitches said...

Jeanine, I agree - love & kindness is key. Some people will never be able to move beyond their hatred and ignorance but there are some people that can. One person can make a difference, so let's all strife to be that one person.

Anonymous said...

I agree to kill em' with kindness but I can help but laugh as his failure to spell out "because"..Did he happen to at least post his name?

Bitter Bitches said...

Surveygirl46, he actually did post his name. What a surprise that was, I admire his courage in doing so even though I fundamentally differ from his prehistoric mindset.

Shades of Gay said...

Since I am both autistic and bi, by the letter author's logic I am doubly defective. Woo hoo!!!

Sean said...

Wait a minute. You're gay? Oh my god, now they have blogs. What is next, marriage? Jesus is truly coming soon. :)

Meh fuck that guy. you shouldn't admire him because he gave his real name. He did that because he believes that he is so right, that he has nothing to be ashamed of. Which of course he does.

It is easy to give your real name when you are in the majority.

I agree with the gentleman..to a point. Words are words and semantics are just that.
I wrote an article some time ago on "anomalies". My analogy was just as "scientific", it just uses different semantics. Homosexuality is an anomalous due to genetics. He negatively asserts it is a defect and I positively assert it is a stopgap for over population because breeders can't keep it in their pants. He can't prove he is anymore correct then I because neither of us have the mind of God. He and I obviously do agree in this aspect...we were born this way. We don't recruit. Rev. Brett A Haaris

Ya know Pierre - you have to admire someone that posts their name - even though their message is archaic, and is born out of a narrow mind born of fear - at least this one is ready to stand up for what he believes in - other than playing hate mail "doorbell ditch"

Bitter Bitches said...

@ Shades of Gay, well there you go my defective autistic and bi friend ;-)

@ Sean, lol we have blogs! I don't admire that guy at all, I think he's and idiot, but at least he showed some intelligence - an inkling that is.

@ The Mari Rev, you make a good point. Whether it's genetic or not none of us should be ashamed of who and what we are.

@ surveygirl46, I agree and at least he kept the profanity to a minimum.

I think the people that wrote those comments have defective genes. They lack the compassionate ones. The ones that recognize a human being with feelings, needs and desires just like anyone else. And most importantly the genes that call us to LOVE OTHERS.

Yes, the Bible says a lot of things are wrong, and that NO ONE, not one is righteous and without sin but we can all still move forward in a spirit of love. Jesus loved the most horrendous people of his time. People EVERYONE looked down on.

I am so glad you can see past these....hurt people, hurt people.

Keep smilin'

Bitter Bitches said...

Thanks Angelia, I take these type of things from whom they come and understand that not all people have compassion, tolerance and an open mind.

There will always be people out there that will spread hate and hide behind religion to justify their discrimination. Luckily, there are more people in the world who are not like that and who believe in love, respect and acceptance.

When I started my blog I knew I was putting myself out there and that some people may take offense. But I believe, even though my blog is mostly humorous, the basic message is portrayed. GLBT issues ranging from the frivolous to serious human rights abuses are being voiced and reaching the right people.

Science has always been used as a prop by the intolerant to defend their views because it carries the veneer of rationality. I imagine you must be equally amused and outraged by all these devious and dubious attacks.

Soph said...

People who write these kind of letters clearly have a very small mind and cannot understand that everybody has the right to free choice. They need to learn that everybody is different and by pointing things like they did out, then they are only proving themselves to look stupid and un educated. You must be a very stong person to be able to tollerate all the abuse you get thrown at you. Maybe some people send E mails like this but I'm sure many of us would agree that you are to be admired for your strength and positive attitude.

Bitter Bitches said...

@ Nothingprofound, I now just find most of them amusing due to their utter ludicrousness. Some piss me off and the rest I just ignore.

@ Soph, thanks for the kind words it's truly appreciated. I am starting to realize that these kind of e-mails and messages is to be expected when one blog about subject matters that people feel strongly about. However, I will not be deterred by this and these type of attacks/abuse/ridicule will not silence me but only make my voice stronger and more determined.

Roshni said...

actually people like that are no scientists..coz otherwise they would know that their 'theories' don't hold any ground! Anyway, he seems convinced and at peace with himself! Much like Oprah promoting Sarah Palin's book and making her millions!

Bless, Gay Science always makes me smile. It’s the odd little defect like this that brought life on this planet to where it is today. I bet this bloke is a creationist at heart and is fighting a few defects of his own. People who think too much about what causes “gayness” or how bad it is usually do.

MrFire said...

I'd like to add one additional point...

The argument that homosexuals are an evolutionary dead end is meaningless: there has always been an appreciable (possibly constant?) proportion of gay folk in the population, regardless of the time or place, and it has nothing to do with the passing on of genes.

Put another way, there were homosexuals in ancient Egypt, there are homosexuals today (duh), and there will be homosexuals in our space-faring (?) future. The ideologies that surround (and often oppress) gay people, however, will come and go.

Bitter Bitches said...

@ Roshni Mitra Chintalapati, you are so right and I also agree at your example of Oprah promoting Sarah Palin's book (What's up with that anyway?)

@ David, I don't know the guy who wrote the hate mail so I can't comment about any defects he may have. "Gay science" is fascinating, it reminds me of the "gay bomb": A bomb that was to be developed by the USA military that would make the enemy's soldiers gay and therefor more interested in loving thy fellow soldier than killing him.

@ MrFire, you make an excellent point. Also don't forget ancient Greece.

Juz said...

Greetings from Cape Town,
So we're defect. That's interesting. Then I would love to ad that I LOVE BEING DEFECT!
Thanks for sharing!
:)
Juz

Bitter Bitches said...

Thanks Juz ;-)

Unknown said...

@Pierre – I think the intention of the gay bomb was to cause the soldiers to be distracted by each other sexually, allowing the enemy to quickly overrun them. I understand the US military got the idea from another technology – Stella Atois ;-)

@Mr Fire – Evolutionarily I think the gap between us and the Egyptians is far too small. Who’s to say we’re a dead end. Hetties breed with gay abandon these days but in 1000 years time you might be able to get an insemination kit from a vending machine making heterosexual sex obsolete (for breeding purposes). And in 100,000, if it wasn’t for the written word, civilization may be wondering what happened to hetro homo erectus like that missing link that was wiped out so long ago by an ancestor of our current variant.

Aw this is really screwed up. I have a cousin who is gay that went through hell coming out the closet- his dad is a preacher. I will be honest I don't agree with it at all, especially because of religious views. But that doesn't make me any better of a person one bit- I have my flaws. I smoke, I drink alcohol and as a matter of fact I had two children by two different dads, both out of marriage. So who am I to judge anyone? It doesn't mean I think any of it is right but hey, I don't understand it and don't even pretend to understand. Sure I have tossed a few ideas up here and there, my cousin says he was born this way. I also have a few gay friends and we have no problem talking about sexuality and they have no problem with my position on it- because I don't use my position to humiliate them, ridicule them or belittle them. If people could just politely voice their opinion without hurting othere, the world may, just may- be a better place lol. Great blog;-p

Bitter Bitches said...

Kristi, thanks. You are completely right when you say we all have flaws, therefor who are we to judge. Like you I also wish people could politely voice their opinion without hurting other people, but realistically I think we are far from reaching that point. In the mean time all we can do is walk our path and try and make small differences wherever we can, and hope that other will do the same.

I think that there are some people out who get an idea in their head of how things are supposed to be, and they cannot let go of it. Therefore, they will use whatever rationalizations they can and often grab at straws to justify their beliefs, no matter what they are.

Being compared to a disabled child seems kind of amusing because that's obviously not the case. Gay people can reproduce just as straight people can though their methods obviously vary.

I love reading hate mail. It really amuses me.

Bitter Bitches said...

CupCake, I also find some of the weird rationalizations amusing as they are so utterly ridiculous. But I have to admit some hate mail are not amusing and it's quite troublesome to think that there are people walking around with such hate in their hearts.
